Tahitian treasures
Thank you, Costco! Your Travel Connection article in the October issue [“Tahitian treasures”] was perfectly timed. My Bora Bora vacation [booked through Costco Travel] was amazing! As the self-proclaimed “Queen of Costco,” I wanted to wear my love for all things Kirkland Signature™ and Costco for all to see at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. Thanks for the best trip!

Safety first
Your recent article [“Safety first,” October 2022] was spot on. Last year, I trained to teach a parent program at my local church. I learned about the dangers of the small lithium battery and incorporated the discussion into my classes. As a retired homemaker, I was unaware of how many everyday ways these batteries are used and how easily children can access them. I also appreciate that you included a full-page Duracell ad showing how they are putting a bitter taste in their product to discourage swallowing, as well as more child-secure packaging.

Praise for October
Today, I received my October Costco Connection and read it cover to cover, as always. I learned about Costco Next, explored the site, ordered from a company I was interested in and now have a new way of saving money! Thank you for Costco Next!

Monarch butterflies
Regarding the small article on page 16 of the October issue “Befriending monarchs” [Costco Life].
Monarchs should not be raised in a smooth container. They need to be able to climb in order to allow their wings to dry in pristine condition to survive their migration. A jar is extremely difficult for a monarch to climb.
Kathy Shives, Linden, Virginia
You are correct. We had a variety of images that showed the butterfly in a jar with twigs and leaves to help it climb. Unfortunately, we chose the image that focused solely on the beauty of the butterfly, which didn’t have those elements in the photo. It’s better to be accurate than beautiful—we stand corrected.—Editor
Latin love
I just read an article about [Costco supplier] Siete Family Foods [“Gainfully grain-free,” October] in the Costco Connection. I love what you are doing and can’t wait to try these. Also, love, love, love [Siete’s] logo!@DanaShawnie
