In praise of local flavors

I enjoyed your December cover story, “Regional appeal,” about items sold regionally at Costco. I was reminded of my local Costco when I was stationed near Hiroshima, Japan. It had many familiar products that make Costco, Costco, but also some unique regional items like beautiful large trays of fresh sushi, pizza with seafood and corn toppings and the Korean Bulgogi Bake sold hot in the Food Court.

A satisfying sound

I read with interest your recent article “Hearing is believing,” in the December issue. It describes Costco’s partnership with [consumer audio company] Sonos. I have been a fan of Sonos’ innovative and media-friendly products for many years.

Recently, I had a repair need with a Sonos product. Its customer support team responded promptly with a solution that far exceeded my expectations. Purchasing electronics can be a scary proposition. Knowing Costco and its suppliers share the same core values when it comes to customer satisfaction makes buying with confidence so much easier.

Recipes for everyone!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the vegetarian and vegan recipes you ran in “Meatless memories,” in the December issue. My husband and I have been vegetarians over 50 years and raised our children to eat the same way. Our youngest granddaughter is lactose intolerant, so we appreciate new recipes to add to our collection. I usually make a white gravy with raw cashews as the base. But the mushroom gravy in this story looks very tasty. Keep up the good work!

Making a difference

Thanks for the inspirational articles in the December issue [“World changers”] about people “being the change they wish to see in the world.” We may not all have the time to do these things, but everyone can do something to address these problems: Ask our members of Congress to pass legislation to end hunger and make sure a quality education is available to all. In this way we can use our voices to make a difference.

ADVERTISING AND PRODUCTS

All products advertised are available in our warehouses unless otherwise noted. Ads will indicate whether a product is also available at Costco.com or only at Costco.com.

Products are scheduled to be available at the time of the Connection’s date of publication. If they are later than the publication month, they are noted as “early month” (1st to 10th), “mid-month” (11th to 21st) or “late month” (22nd to 31st). Costco.com carries many of the products available at the warehouses, and offers thousands of additional items. Prices are usually not listed in the magazine because they have not been finalized at the time of printing and may vary from one part of the country to another due to shipping costs. We hope members know to check Costco first when comparison shopping. To keep prices low, Costco does not offer a telephone service allowing members to call in for prices or product availability.
