In Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher, teenage sweethearts Charlie and Silas have been best friends since they could talk. One morning they wake up and all of those memories are gone. As they rediscover each other, they wonder what drew them together in the first place.

Costco Connection What inspired this particular story?
Colleen Hoover I got the idea for the first chapter of this book back in 2012. My best friend, Tarryn … was really intrigued by this particular idea, and every few months she’d text me and ask if I’d started writing the book yet. One day I got an email from her with the first chapter she had written herself. The email said, “Here, I wrote the first chapter for you, now finish the book!” I loved her version! I started writing the second chapter from Silas’ point of view and sent it to her. Then she sent me the third chapter, and I sent her the fourth, and we ended up writing the entire book this way. Neither of us knew where the other was taking the story.

CC What would you like readers to know?
CH Tarryn and I are both known for our romance/thriller novels, so when we announced we were writing a book together, people didn’t expect it to be a novel centered on high school kids.
