Bone health
Thank you so much for the “Bad breaks” article [June 2023]. There is a bone health crisis in the United States and it does not generate nearly as much awareness or attention as chronic conditions such as heart disease or diabetes, despite being just as prevalent in our populations and osteoporotic fractures being just as debilitating and even deadly.
It’s so important that your members know how to improve and maintain their bone health and to build healthy dietary and exercise habits into their lives.

In praise of Noosa
Thanks for telling the Noosa yogurt story [“Hometown flavor,” June 2023]. As an Aussie expat living in California, I was super excited when Noosa appeared on Costco shelves. The mention of the city Noosa, redolent of Queensland’s dreamy Sunshine Coast, strikes instant appeal to those familiar with it. And the crisp outstanding flavor of Noosa yogurt must be the reason for its success.

Flower power
As a businesswoman who owned a small flower business for over 35 years, I enjoyed your June 2023 cover story [“Weddings by Costco”].
One Saturday several years ago, I got a frantic call from a woman asking me to do a bouquet for her daughter’s wedding, which was to take place within two hours. I told her I would do my best to help her. Then I dashed to my local Costco warehouse, and bought a bunch of white roses, and gathered some fern and stephanotis from my backyard.
I delivered a lovely bridal bouquet and a boutonniere for the groom to the wedding site minutes before the big event—thanks to Costco.
The bride’s mother said the flowers made the wedding even more beautiful.

Assent for Ascent
Thank you for the story about Ascent native whey [“All the whey,” June 2023]. It is about the cleanest protein I’ve been able to find. I like it. I hope it will constantly be in stock at my local warehouse!

Wheel healthy
[“When strokes strike,” May 2023] is a good general overview of causes that may cause a stroke. In my case I ignored random Afib occurrences. Don’t, no matter how healthy you think you are! See your doctor or cardiologist ASAP.
Following two strokes, a caring cardiologist has allowed me to continue my passion for mountain biking at age 78.
