Merchandising: Our Principles & Policies

We're committed to offering high-quality goods at the lowest possible prices — in a way that respects the people, environment and animals that produce them. We ask our suppliers six foundational questions:

  • Can you map your supply chain?
  • How are the people cared for?
  • How are the animals cared for?
  • How is the environment cared for?
  • Is the best possible packaging being used?
  • What are your emissions and your plans to reduce them?

Products

We carefully select quality products, striving to ensure everything is produced using practices that are good for our members, our planet and our communities.

Human Rights

We recognize the impact we can have on the human rights of people around the world who grow and make our products, and have adopted policies and procedures to help us respect these rights.

Animal Welfare

Our policies call for respecting the welfare and conducting the proper handling of all animals used in the production of the products we sell.

Nature & Biodiversity

Our goal is to protect natural ecosystems and support responsible land-stewardship practices.

Chemical Management

In collaboration with our suppliers, we're working to reduce or remove harmful chemicals in our products.

Packaging

We have partnered with our suppliers and other organizations to develop smart packaging solutions.

Kirkland Signature

With our exclusive line of private-label products, we have more insight over the entire supply chain, helping to ensure long-term quality and supply.

Emissions

We are committed to helping to reduce our carbon footprint within our supply chains. These efforts are reflected in our Climate Action Plan.
