Limited to 888 copies, this first-edition set pays tribute to the Garonne river in Bordeaux. The wines are Château Lafite Rothschild 2008, Carruades de Lafite 2014, Château L'Évangile 2013, Château Duhart-Milon 2012, Château Rieussec 2009 and R de Rieussec 2019. They are all ready to drink and ideal for collectors and wine lovers.

First among the 1855 Bordeaux Classified Growths, Château Lafite-Rothschild is the master of its gravelly land. The bearer of a long winegrowing tradition that began in 1620, it has asserted itself over the centuries as a veritable standard bearer of the Pauillac appellation on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Indeed, from the Cardinal of Richelieu to the then President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, the great personalities of the world have fallen under the spell of these great wines with their unique soul and unparalleled refinement.
Critic Tasting Note: “A candidate for the -wine of the vintage,- the 2008 should have been purchased before it began to soar in value because of the significance of the number 8 in the Chinese culture (denoting good luck). Representing 40% of the production, this blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc offers aromas of high quality unsmoked cigar tobacco, lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, earth, cedar and asphalt. Full, rich and stunningly concentrated, I doubt it is inferior to the 2010, just more classic as well as slightly more forward and a degree weaker in alcoholic potency (12.5% versus 13.5%). The 2008 should be relatively drinkable in 6-10 years as it is already showing remarkable complexity and breed, and will last for 30-35 years...at the minimum.” - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Carruades de Lafite is the second label of the prestigious Château Lafite Rothschild, one of the most famous wine estates in Bordeaux, France. It is made from a selection of grapes that are not used for the first wine, but still express the terroir and style of Lafite. Carruades de Lafite is usually a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and it is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 20 months. Carruades de Lafite is more accessible and affordable than its grand vin, but it still offers elegance, complexity and balance. It can be enjoyed young or cellared for several years.
Critic Tasting Note: “With its 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a wine that is structured while marked with intense black currants. It has firm tannins and just a touch of wood. It is classic upright Bordeaux with its fine acidity and dry tannins. It will need to age, drink from 2024.” - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

Chateau L'Evangile is a prestigious Bordeaux wine estate located in the appellation of Pomerol. It was founded in 1741 by the Léglise family and has a history of producing high-quality wines from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The estate has been owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the owners of Chateau Lafite Rothschild, since 1990. Chateau L'Evangile is known for its rich, elegant and complex wines that express the terroir of Pomerol.
Critic Tasting Note: “Not shy, with charcoal and bitter cocoa notes, accented by plenty of tobacco details. The core of dark plum, currant paste and fig flavors pulls all the elements together through the finish. A frankly muscular style that is both ambitious and surprisingly successful in this vintage. Chateau Duhart Milon is a prestigious wine estate located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. It is classified as a fourth growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and produces red wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The estate has a long history dating back to the 18th century and is currently owned by the Rothschild family.
Critic Tasting Note: “This marks an impressive step forward for this wine that's so often been in the shadows of other wines in the Lafite-Rothschild stable. It's dense and structured as well as deliciously fruity. The wine is straight down the line, starting with perfumed acidity and finishing with blackberry fruit. Chateau Rieussec is a prestigious producer of sweet white wine in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, France. It was classified as a Premier Cru Classe (First Growth) in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines. The estate dates back to the 18th century, when it was owned by the Carmes de Langon monks. It has changed hands several times over the years, and is now owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the same group that owns Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Chateau Rieussec makes wines from a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grapes, which are affected by noble rot, a fungus that concentrates the sugars and flavors in the berries. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 18 to 26 months before bottling. Chateau Rieussec is known for its rich, complex and balanced style, with aromas and flavors of honey, apricot, citrus and spice.
Critic Tasting Note: “Pale to medium gold colored, the 2009 Rieussec sings of crème caramel, chopped nuts, baked apples and spiced pears with hints of jasmine, peach blossoms and beeswax. Full-bodied, rich and decadently creamy in the mouth, the multilayered palate is beautifully lifted with fantastic freshness. R de Rieussec is a dry white wine produced by the prestigious Château Rieussec, one of the most renowned estates in Sauternes. The wine is made from a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grapes, harvested from the same vineyards as the famous sweet wines of Rieussec. R de Rieussec offers a refreshing and elegant expression of the terroir, with aromas of citrus, white flowers and honey, and a balanced palate with crisp acidity and minerality.
Critic Tasting Note: “Extremely pale white/yellow colour in the glass with an expressive nose of fresh and lively white fruits - peach and apricot as well as tropical fruits with a hint of sweetness. Nice body and weight in the mouth - precision and clarity on show with passion fruit and zesty lemon edges. Well packaged - this feels confident with the flavours pushed along from start to finish while the high acidity balances the weight, texture and nuances of the tropical fruit flavours.
