2019 is among the exceptional vintages of Château Margaux. The wines are characterized by smooth tannins and a great freshness of aromas that almost make you forget the wine’s exceptional concentration. Easy to drink young, this vintage nevertheless has great potential to age.

On this occasion, Château Margaux is launching a special limited edition case, featuring its three wines. This mixed case consists of three bottles of Château Margaux, two bottles of Pavillon Rouge and one bottle of Pavillon Blanc, thus offering a complete tasting of the 2019 vintage.

Collection:

This unique collection, named “La Trilogie 2019”, is a limited series of only one thousand cases.
A new embossing technique was used for the top of the case, adding an elegant golden relief to the Château Margaux logo, underlined by the name of this case in cursive.

With this 2019 trilogy, Château Margaux presents an exceptional vintage, a true reflection of our commitment to excellence.
Chateau Margaux is one of the most famous wine estates in the world, located in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France. It was one of the five estates that achieved Premier Cru status in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855, which means it produces some of the finest wines in the region. Chateau Margaux produces three main labels from its vineyards; all 3 of which are represented in the following special edition collection set. The Chateau Margaux vineyard owes its unique character to its rare terroir, situated upon an outcropping of gravel. The vineyard of the property gives pride of place to the area's flagship red grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, which is complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The clay-limestone soils of the estate produce legendary wines with a distinguished and sensual allure, so representative of the Margaux appellation.
Their “Grand Vin” simply called “Chateau Margaux” is the flagship wine of the estate, made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes. It is aged for 18 to 24 months in new oak barrels and has a complex and elegant bouquet of black fruits, spices, cedar and violets. It can age for decades and is considered one of the best wines in the world.
Pavillon Rouge de Margaux is the second wine of the estate, made from younger vines and a higher proportion of Merlot grapes. It is aged for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new. It is more approachable and fruity than the Grand Vin, with aromas of red berries, plums, vanilla and tobacco. It can be enjoyed earlier than the Grand Vin, but also has good aging potential.
Pavillon Blanc de Margaux is the only white wine produced by the estate, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. It is fermented and aged for 6 to 8 months in new oak barrels, giving it a rich and creamy texture. It has aromas of citrus, peach, honey and toast, with a refreshing acidity and a long finish. It is one of the most sought-after white wines from Bordeaux.

2019 Vintage Report:
2019 will be remembered as the hottest year ever recorded in France. After a mild winter and a warm spring, marked by significant precipitation, the summer of 2019 brought scorching temperatures. At Chateau Margaux, the harvest began on September 18 and ended on October 10. The precipitation from September 22 to 29 helped slow down the ripening of the grapes, which maintained a very good level of acidity and average alcohol levels.
